The Deliplein square. A colourful mix of old Kapenezen, young families, hipsters and eccentric types gather together here. Take Kopi Soesoe for example. Owners Cordelie and Niels are always, and I mean always, cheerful. They embrace you. You can choose the beans for your coffee. I’m not much of a morning person, but before I go to work at about four o'clock, I like to eat their sauerkraut toasted sandwich, just on white bread, but delicious. Besides original dishes from Europe, they also have live performances in their small restaurant. Very cosy.

Delibird on Deliplein square has the best Thai in Rotterdam and Vislokaal Kaap is great for fruits de mer and vegetarian dishes. At the Fenix Food Factory, you will find different stalls serving exactly what you feel like. They have a beautiful terrace on the Maas, as does the Maaskantine.
